Simulation games are games in which you have to assume various roles. You may be a candy maker--as in Chocolatier--or sell lemonade in various locations--such as Lemonade Tycoon; whatever role you attempt, simulation games are lots of fun and very addicting. Since there is no time limit, only goals to be accomplished, you can play for hours and forget the real world. Here are some hints for playing simulation games.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Find a game site. Real Arcade and Big Fish are two of the more popular game sites. You can become members and get games for a low price. They are also safe to download from and their links are in the resource section.
Step2
Pick a game from the many they have--look at them all until you find the perfect one for you.
Step3
Download the game, making sure you computer meets all the minimum requirements of the game. Some of these games are very large--be sure you have enough hard drive space. In addition, some do not have demonstration versions because of their size, so you have to buy them without trying them.
Step4
Start the game. You will be given a certain amount of money to start your journey. You need to buy supplies, set prices, choose a location to sell your product, and all the things you would do if you owned your own business.
Step5
Complete the tasks that you are assigned and see your money grow and your customers increase. Sometimes when you play, you will notice that your prices are too low, or your recipe isn't selling, or other tips that you will have to change to meet your goals.
Step6
Try a different type of simulation game. In some games you will have to help characters adapt to a different way of life--as in Virtual Villagers and Westward. There you have to accomplish tasks too but they are not a big business type of goal, they are survival goals.

Tips & Warnings

  • Playing games is addictive--playing simulation games makes you lose all track of time.
  • Check your anti-virus software and be sure it is up to date before you start downloading games.
