When you want to start a business, a franchise is sometimes a good option. WSI Internet franchising allows you to have all the tools at your disposal to begin an Internet consulting business. Below are some tips on how to evaluate and start your Internet franchise business.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Do your due diligence. Before you commit to a WSI Internet franchise, investigate other franchises to see if WSI is the best fit for you.

  2. Step 2

Gather together money for the initial investment and operating costs. Most WSI Internet franchisees begin with an initial investment of around $50,000 and a recommended operating account with $50,000.

  3. Step 3

Fill out the WSI forms and applications. See our Resources section below for more information.

  4. Step 4

Wait for approval. WSI evaluates your application and approves it for further processing. Generally, if you have the capital to invest and there is an area available near you without someone already working that area, WSI will approve you application.

  5. Step 5

Attend WSI training. This is the most important step. The sessions and classes will not only train you in how to recommend Internet based solutions for your clients, but will show you how to use the WSI customer resource center on their website. WSI provides all the customer tools necessary to be successful; it is your job to utilize all the tools properly in order to grow your business.

  6. Step 6

Use your tools to reach your customers.

Tips & Warnings
  • A franchise is different from owner-created businesses. Franchises come with systems and business tools already done; but you will also pay an ongoing fee for these services which may or may not include profit sharing and monthly fees.
