You've spent your time and money restoring your classic car and getting it ready for its debut to your friends and neighbors. A final decision needs to be made: what color to pain the exterior. The wide range of color choices can is exciting. Here are a few easy steps to help you determine the best choice for your vintage car.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look at the interior of your vintage car. If it is a neutral color, such as black or gray, it will compliment any exterior. Or, you may need to stay with a specific color family such as blue or red to blend with the interior.

  2. Step 2

Research classic paint colors traditionally used on the vintage make and model you are painting. Select a color that compliments the interior and is authentic for your vehicle.

  3. Step 3

Look for consumer reviews from the businesses you are considering. Painting the exterior of a car is expensive, particularly when you are dealing with a classic car. You don't want to be unhappy with the results you achieve or the customer service provided.

  4. Step 4

Read the tech sheet for your final choice, as this will give you valuable information like how long the paint will last, how to properly mix it, and how to set up properly for a spray-gun application.
