Jeans in Europe has taken on different symbols, depending on the decade. Jeans stood for freedom after the end of the Second World War; the 70's brought bell-bottoms and creativity; the 80's introduced jeans with designers' labels on rear pockets; and in this millennium, one can see jeans on the catwalk. Since jeans are such a popular item in Europe, a business-minded person may wonder how they cash in on this market.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy jeans from a wholesaler for resale. Check out our Resources section for liquidators and Internet bidding sites.

  2. Step 2

Research forgotten sizes. Although plus-sizes aren't as forgotten as they once were, research the plus-size market in Europe to see if it would be profitable to invest in plus-size jeans for resale.

  3. Step 3

Peruse denim importers directories. These directories help to put those individuals and companies wanting to sell to the European market as well as other countries.

  4. Step 4

Think European when it comes to sizing. A size 10 in the U.S. is a 40 in Europe.

  5. Step 5

Apply for a passport, if your plan is to travel to Europe instead of hiring a proxy or selling online.

  6. Step 6

Write a business plan. Include why selling jeans in Europe would be profitable for you. What will your out-of-pocket cost be? Will you be able to recoup your cost and make a profit? These are a few of the questions that you ask when starting any business.
