Being able to serve as a bartender at your own dinner party or get together is important. You don't have to be able to make every drink that has ever been invented or fancy fruit drinks, but it is important to make a simple drink on the rocks. It is not very difficult but you will be a star to your guests if you can get it right.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bucket of ice
  • Glass for the drink
  • Liquor of choice
  • Bar spoon
  • Shaker and strainer
  1. Step 1

Ask the guest for their drink order. For the simple order of liquor on the rocks, they have told you all you need to know. If they ask for a mixed drink, like a margarita or daiquiri, you need to find out if they want it on the rocks or frozen.

  2. Step 2

Take the glass and fill it about 3/4 full of ice and set it on the bar.

  3. Step 3

Mix the drink that they desire in the shaker and add some ice to chill the drink. Shake well to mix the ingredients. Place the strainer over the top of the shaker and pour the mixed drink over the ice in the glass. If the guest has asked for a single liquor on the rocks, then you simply upend the bottle and measure out the liquor into the jigger and pour it over the ice.

  4. Step 4

Take a bar spoon, mix the drink once in both directions, then add the garnish to the glass, and hand the guest their drink.
