Step 1
Prepare for celebratory dinners. When you take your china out of the cabinet to use for holiday or special dinners, you may find that over time some pieces have acquired stains. By dipping the tip of a cotton swab in nail-polish remover, you can clean the stain and then wash your bone china before setting the table.
-
Step 2
Polish the silverware for company. After finishing with the bone china, you'll need to clean your best silver for the occasion. Rubbing the utensils with polish and a rag is good for the obvious areas, but if you use a cotton swab with the polish, you can reach the crevices that are so prevalent in good silverware.

Step 3
Dust the hard-to-reach spots. Dusting picture frames and cleaning the glass is part of your cleaning routine, but it's difficult to get the dust build-up out of the inside edges of the frame. Use a cotton swab with a bit of glass cleaner and wipe the dust away.
-
Step 4
Clean your computer keyboard. After unplugging all equipment, make a solution of 50/50 vinegar and water. Dip the end of the cotton swab in the solution and get into all the hard-to-reach spaces of your keyboard.
-
Step 5
Exterminate mouse dirt. Not the furry kind, but your computer mouse. If you own a computer mouse with a removable ball, take it out of the mouse. Then use the 50/50 vinegar solution to get rid of all the grime and dust particles that have built up in the ball chamber. Just be sure to allow the mouse to dry thoroughly before using it again.

Step 6
Perfect your home manicure. When doing your nails by yourself, you can use cotton swabs before and after you apply the polish. First, use a swab to remove the old polish by your cuticles that didn't come off with a cotton ball. After your new polish dries, use a cotton swab to remove any polish that mistakenly got on your fingers around the nail.
