If you want a quick way to spice up your sex life, consider bondage play. This form of BDSM involves the roles of dominant and submissive and is only limited by each partner's creativity. The following is intended for consensual partners interested in using the hogtie during bondage play.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Practice your hogtie bondage technique beforehand. Check out the links below for websites offering instructions on proper knot tying technique. Failure to learn basic knot tying skills may lead to serious injury to your sub.
Step2
Organize your bondage supplies beforehand. There's nothing that kills the moment more than having your lover sitting around while you fumble with the tangled ropes. Make sure you have plenty of rope (around six lengths separated and varying in length from 2 to 6 feet), along with any BDSM accessories agreed on by your partner.
Step3
Decide on a safe word before beginning any bondage play. A safe word is just what it implies, a word spoken by the sub that allows his or her partner to know that they have had enough.
Step4
Set the mood slowly. Bondage play is not meant to be rushed. Try to give your lover a nice massage with sultry music to calm them down before you begin tying him hand and foot.
Step5
Lie your lover on their stomach and have her bring her wrists (palms together) behind her back. Tie her wrists together by wrapping plenty of rope around her wrists fairly loosely so as not to cut off the blood flow.
Step6
Cross your lovers ankles and tie them together (remember to use plenty of rope). This position will ensure his legs are kept apart as they struggle with their bonds.
Step7
Connect the ankles to your partner's wrists with a separate piece of rope, running it up from the ankles, passing around the wrists then back to the ankles before being looped and tied securely. Do not pull briskly on the ropes as they may pull on your lover's limbs too tightly.
Step8
Have fun. Now that your lover is helpless in her hogtie, indulge in safe and erotic bondage play making sure you check them repeatedly for circulation and comfort.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never leave a bound up partner unattended.
  • To avoid injuries, limit your bondage sessions to 30 minutes.
  • Always keep a pair of sturdy scissors handy in case your lover needs a quick escape from their bonds.

on 4/19/2008 I didn't see any warnings in your article about "Positional Asphyxia" - a definate safety issue whenever putting someone in a hogtie. Police and military personal are trained how to restrain someone safely and you really need to address this issue or remove it from ehow.com
