1
Prepare the tempera paint for your project. Put the paint into a Styrofoam tray or plate and mix in a bit of flour or glue to make it thicker and stickier for painting.
-
2
Place a sponge in the tray. Get it nice and wet with paint on one side and turn it up so that the wet side is pointing upward. It is good to use a sponge because it helps you to get only a little bit of paint on your vegetable or fruit piece so that the print won't come out too goopy.

3
Slice a piece of vegetable or fruit in half or into quarters to make your print. Some good veggies and fruits to use include mushrooms, starfruit, carrots, potatoes, oranges, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes, apples or avocados. Remove seeds from the fruit before using.
-
4
Dip the fruit or vegetable slice lightly onto the sponge. Stamp them onto paper or cardstock.
-
5
Lift the fruit or vegetable gently off the page to reveal your print. Be creative with your project and use different kinds of shapes for your masterpiece.
