Nero Vision is a video editing program bundled with Nero Ultra, one of the largest multimedia editing suites currently available. It gives you a wide variety of tools and options for creating and burning homemade DVDs. One of its most useful features is chapter creation, which makes dividing long movies into smaller clips a breeze.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open Nero Vision. You can find its shortcut by opening the Start Menu, clicking on "Programs" and then opening the "Photo and Video" subfolder of the Nero Ultra main folder.

  2. Step 2

Select "Make a DVD..." from the main menu, then click on "DVD Video."

  3. Step 3

Click on "Add Video Files..." to add a movie to your project. If you're building your movie from existing titles on another disc, insert the disc into your drive and click on "Import Disc."

  4. Step 4

    Click on "Create Chapters."

  5. Step 5

Drag the slider thumb forward to where you'd like to create a new chapter. The first chapter is automatically made once you create the second, so don't worry about specifying it.

  6. Step 6

Click on the "Add Chapter" button to create the chapter. It's not labeled with text, but it's the one on the far right that has a "+" on it.

  7. Step 7

Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you've broken the movie into as many chapters as you want. Then click "Next."

Tips & Warnings
  • In the chapter creation screen, click on the button with the magnifying glass on it to have Nero automatically detect and create chapters for you.
  • If you're putting multiple video files on your DVD and you want to create a chapter at the end of each one, click on the button that has a "+" next to a film strip on it.
