Instead of hearing "are we there yet?" ten thousand times before you arrive at your destination, keep the kids busy during long road trips by having games for them to play. The following will show you how to play license plate games on road trips.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A car full of bored people
  1. Step 1

Print a list of all 50 states for each player in the car. Cross off each state as you find the plate for that state. Play the game individually and try to win or work together as a team.

  2. Step 2

Play License Plate Bingo by making cards with five lines and columns of random letters and numbers. Cross off the letters and numbers as you see them on passing license plates. The first player to get five in a row diagonally, vertically or horizontally shouts "Bingo!" and wins the game.

  3. Step 3

Play the Alphabet game by looking for the letters of the alphabet in order. Look for the letters in license plates. When you find one, shout it out and move on to the next letter.

  4. Step 4

Make words from phrases with the letters in the license plates. For example, if the license plate reads ESB 423, you could come up with Eat Some Bacon or Evenly Sliced Bread and so forth. See how many phrases you can develop.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also print a map of the United States and make tally marks on each state every time you come across a license plate from that state.
