Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Set a concrete goal and a timeline in which to reach it. Develop a strategy for reaching your goal and break it down by the individual steps you have to take. Identifying the steps can guide you to the specific tasks you need to undertake and highlight areas where you need to be particularly brash.
Step2
Become very visible to clients. Contact clients regularly to make more sales. Force them to upgrade to more expensive products or sell the more than they need. When they protest, insist that the product change is in their best interest. Pressure clients until they concede.
Step3
Inform your boss of successful sales, project milestones and any other achievement that could lead to a promotion. When reporting your duties, take all credit for good work, strategically excluding the contributions of co-workers. Be sure that you are always the first person to report back to upper management and get the most credit.
Step4
Stand your ground and maintain your authority. Project a strong demeanor that discourages people from challenging you. Always insist that you are correct, even if it comes to your attention that you are not. The most important thing is to make people believe that you are correct and that they would be foolish to challenge you even if you're not.
Step5
Adopt intimidating body language. Stand up straight, puff out your chest and invade people's personal space. Get in their faces while talking or back them into a corner.
