Things You'll Need:

  • 12 oz. distilled water
  • 4.4 oz. lye granules
  • 6 oz. coconut oil
  • 10 oz. palm oil
  • 12 oz. olive oil
  • 4 oz. sweet almond oil
  • 1 tbsp. rosemary essential oil
  • 1 tbsp. ground rosemary
  • 1/2 tbsp. dill
  • 1/2 tbsp. coffee grounds
  1. Step 1

Measure out 12 oz. of distilled water into a plastic or glass bowl. Wear safety glasses and rubber gloves as you add 4.4 oz. of lye granules to the water. Stir the mixture with a wooden or plastic spoon to dissolve the lye.

  3. Step 3

Measure out 6 oz. of coconut oil, 12 oz. of olive oil, 10 oz. of palm oil and 3.5 oz. of sweet almond oil in a saucepan. Gently heat the oils together over medium-low heat to melt them together. Cool to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

  4. Step 4

Add 1 tbsp. of rosemary essential oil to half an ounce of sweet almond oil in a separate container. Mix them together.

  5. Step 5

Slowly and carefully add the lye and distilled water mixture to the oil mixture when both have cooled and stir constantly with a plastic or wooden spoon. Wear your safely glasses and rubber gloves when doing this.

  6. Step 6

Stir the mixture until it thickens to the point when you can run a line across the top with your spoon and the line stays. It will have a consistency similar to pudding.

  7. Step 7

Add the sweet almond oil and rosemary essential oil mixture to the mix while stirring. Add 1 tbsp. of ground rosemary, 1/2 tbsp. of dill and 1/2 tbsp. of coffee grounds.

  8. Step 8

Pour the mixture into the mold of your choice and cover it with a towel to keep the heat in. Let it set for 24 hours. Take the soap out of the mold and let it cure for 3 weeks.
