Things You'll Need:
- 2 1/2-inch terra cotta or plastic flower pots
- 1 package of jingle or Christmas bells
- White spray paint
- Stencil
- Acrylic paints in colors of choice
- 1 roll 1/2-inch wide ribbon
- Piece of scrap cardboard
-
Step 1
Purchase all of the needed items at a local crafts store or order them online. It takes 5 flower pots for each cluster, and either terra cotta or plastic pots can be used.
-
Step 2
Spray paint both the insides and outsides of all of the flower pots white. Let dry before proceeding.
-
Step 3
Stencil a selected design onto the flower pots. Make sure the pattern is put on the pots upside down as they will be hanging that way when the craft project is finished.
-
Step 4
Trace the bottoms of the flower pots onto scrap pieces of cardboard. Cut out the circles and then cut a slit in the middle of each piece for the ribbon to go through.
-
Step 5
Cut five pieces of ribbon of varying lengths. This will allow the bells to hang at different levels when the project is done. Insert a piece of ribbon through two bells and secure with a knot. Make another knot a little way up the ribbon to allow it to stop in the cardboard slit. Now thread the ribbon through the slit in the cardboard and out through the opening in the flower pot bottom, pulling the cardboard until it becomes flush with the flower pot bottom.
-
Step 6
Gather all five flower pots together, making sure they hang at varying lengths. Tie all of the ribbons together. Cover this knot with a bow made from leftover ribbon or use hot glue to attach an artificial flower.
