For small wiring or networking projects, you won't necessarily need punch down tools (or punch tools). However, for larger do-it-yourself (DIY) projects that include installing a panel or box for wires, you probably will need a punch tool. Professionally installed computer networks and audio/visual studios require such a centralized wiring panel or box. Know where to buy punch down tools for your next big DIY project.

    Find punch tools ranging in price. Buy punch down tools from under $10 to over $100. Pay as little as $1.99 for a punch tool but make sure it will do the job accurately.
