Raising Christian children might be more difficult than it sounds. There are so many issues arising in the church that make the adults not want to attend let alone encourage them to grow as Christians. Here is how to raise Christian children while growing yourself.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Become a Christian. A large portion - 75 percent - of all Americans claim to be Christians. The label is easy to adopt as your own, but becoming a real Christian means following the basic tenants of faith of the Bible. You must believe God is real and that he came to earth as Jesus. You must believe that you were separated from God by your own sin and that only Jesus' death and resurrection can bring you back to His side. Then, you are a Christian.

  2. Step 2

Teach your children what you know. Tell your child about Step 1. Read your Bible and find out some more facts about being a follower of Christ. Read the books of Luke, John, and Acts. This will give you a broad range of info on Christianity and what Christians believe. Then teach it to your kids.

  3. Step 3

Talk about what the Bible says. The Bible says that the Hebrews wore the Bible truths on their body. They talked about it when they were walking with their kids and they walked a lot. They talked about the Bible history when they were sitting down to eat. Talk, talk, and talk some more with your kids.

  4. Step 4

Teach them forgiveness. Let them know that they have done things wrong and God quickly forgives them, so they should always forgive others. Read about people in the Bible who God loved very much and who also made lots of mistakes. Teach about David and how God forgave him and how we are to forgive just as God does.

  5. Step 5

Discipline the child. Discipline has been defined in many ways. The Bible says that God disciplines man so he can grow and because God loves man. Discipline your child to show him you love him and want him to do right.

  6. Step 6

Go to church and live outside of church the way you would live inside a sanctuary. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lived in the temple in the old testament. You are the temple now and God's spirit lives in you. Act like it. It's easy to be nice and patient in church, but continue it on the outside. You are a walking church and your kids are watching you.
