How to Install a Custom Tailpipe
An exhaust system is a part of a vehicle that guides the waste exhaust gas away from the engine where continuous combustion is taking place inside. Tailpipes are carefully designed to carry toxic gases away from a vehicle's driver and passengers. Green house gases, which are exhumed from a tailpipe, are poisonous and can kill if inhaled for extended periods.

1
Make sure you have all the parts to install your custom tailpipe before you get started. Don't begin the project with frustration.
-
2
Pull the old tailpipe off the muffler. There will be clamps to unfasten so be careful not to hurt the muffler or catalytic converter in any way.
-
-
3
Rub the open hole of the muffler with a clean rag. Clear away all debris. You may want to apply some grease to make insertion easier.
-
4
Take the custom tailpipe and insert it into the muffler. Twist and turn the pipe into the muffler. Once inserted wipe off excess grease.
-
5
Wiggle the custom tailpipe until it is inserted snuggly in the extender pipe if the car has one.
-
6
Spread the clamps, place around the muffler and tailpipe connection or the tailpipe and extender connection and tighten the clamp with a screwdriver.
-
7
Test the environmental safety of the custom tailpipe after installation. Take the car to your local garage and have an emissions test done.
