How to Deal With Bad Sauna Etiquette
Everyone enjoys a long hot stint in the sauna. Due to the personal nature of bodies in close proximity with little or no clothing, certain sauna etiquette is required. You know the rules, but a newcomer is exhibiting bad form. For everyone's peace of mind you need to deal with his faux pas in a gentle, but effective manner through appropriate sauna etiquette.

1
Avert your eyes if the newcomer is assuming a position that exposes his private area in an blatant way. Modesty is expected in a sauna, although many patrons go nude. If there is a sauna etiquette rule against nudity, mention it to him in a lighthearted manner.
-
2
Stand up and casually stretch before relocating further away from a person who invades your space. Due to the private nature of a sauna, everyone needs to respect another's privacy. The person invading your space may not be doing it consciously.

Engross yourself in a magazine to deal with unwanted conversations. All you want to do is relax and enjoy the experience, but there's always someone who wants to make small talk. Bring a magazine that you don't mind messing up; the heat will totally wrinkle the pages, and focus, or pretend to focus, on it to deter gabby sauna-goers.
-
4
Close your eyes and pretend you're asleep. What you don't see won't bother you. You can meditate quietly while soaking up the heat, or plan the rest of the day's schedule behind your eyelids and no one will be the wiser. But, stay awake, there are time limits in a sauna and it is unhealthy to exceed them.

5
Deal with the rude ox by reporting him to the management if all else fails. Do this as a last resort, however; you want to enjoy the sauna every session and not have to wonder if someone is casting bad looks at you for reporting them.
