Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II are interactive video games available for Playstation 2 and Xbox 360. The game is rated "T" and comes with one Gibson guitar controller, either black, red or white. The controller has a lever you push down for the strumming action and colored buttons on the frets to create different notes and power chords.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Look at the song choices. Guitar Hero has 47 rock songs and Guitar Hero II has 64 songs. Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360 has an additional 10 songs. The game features songs from bands such as Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Step2
Get a second controller if you want to be able to battle with another player.
Step3
Buy wireless controllers if you want the freedom to move around the room during your performance. A white Gibson guitar or red Gibson Flying V guitar are available for Playstation 2.
Step4
Find Guitar Hero online, at most major retailers that carry video games and in specialty electronic stores. Buy early if you need it for holiday gift as this game can become hard to find. Most stores are now only selling Guitar Hero II, but you might find the older version online.
Step5
Expect Guitar Hero to be at least twice as expensive as a typical video game because it comes bundled with the guitar controller.

Tips & Warnings

  • Buy Guitar Hero for a party activity. It provides music and entertainment for everyone, especially if you have two controllers and can play in battle mode.
  • The language and background graphics of the band may be inappropriate for younger children.
