1
Use the colors of Kwanzaa, black, red and green, for decorating bulletin boards and walls in the classroom. Have students use strips of black, red and green construction paper for making paper chains. Decorate with these by hanging them from the ceiling, around door frames or window frames.

2
Decorate a table in the classroom that represents Kwanzaa. Use African printed cloth for a table runner. Include a selection of harvest crops, the Kwanzaa mat, the Kinara or candle holder, the unity cup and some traditional gifts given at Kwanzaa. Students can help make gifts such as beaded necklaces and books. Use Kwanzaa colors and African drawings for these gift decorations.

Make Kwanzaa cards showcasing Kwanzaa colors and African symbols. Do a short study on African language and have students draw a simple picture along with an African word they learned. Decorate with these by displaying them on shelves around the classroom.
