How to Delete an Individual Message in Gmail
Even though your Gmail account can hold an unlimited number of messages, it's nice to clean it out from time to time. Keeping it free of old unwanted e-mails frees up your inbox and makes it easier for you to find messages without having to search for them.

Open your web browser and go to www.gmail.com.

Login to your Gmail account using your username and password.

Open the conversation containing the message you want to delete.

Open the individual message by clicking on its tab in the conversation window.

Send the message to the Trash by clicking the Delete button once it's open.

Open the Trash folder. You can do this by clicking on the word "Trash" in the column of links on the far left side of the Gmail window.

Delete the message by clicking on the link labeled "Empty Trash Now." This also deletes the other messages in the Trash folder.

Sign out from your Gmail account when you're finished, especially if you're using a public computer.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't want to empty the Trash and delete all of the other messages there, click on the check box next to the individual message. Then, click on the button labeled "Delete Forever," located next to the "Move to Inbox" button and "More actions..." drop-down menu.
Be sure to get all the information out of the message before you delete it. Write down any names, numbers and dates that you might need in the future. Once the message has been erased from the Trash, it's gone forever.
