How to Arm Wrestle Without a Partner

Arm wrestling isn't just for the back rooms of bars anymore. Today it is a fully-fledged sport. Like any other sport it takes an immense amount of training to be the best. However, if you don't have a partner it can be a tad tricky. Here are some tips on how you can actually arm wrestle without a partner to continue and maximize your training.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase an arm wrestling training system. These are available online. Look magine an exceedingly sturdy band tied to a handle. The band fixes on the top of a door in any room.

    • 2

Set-up your arm wrestling training system. Place a table in front of your door frame. Be sure that the bands are attaching to your door in relation to the table at a 45-degree angle.

    • 3

Sit at the table as you in would in a real live match. Reach back, grab the handle, and lock your elbow in the starting position. It should be noted that you can buy arm-wrestling tables that are complete with the official pads for your elbows. While not necessary, these can certainly be helpful if you are training for a professional match.

    • 4

Adjust the resistance. Once seated make sure that the resistance is tight. You will do very little for your training if you can easily force the bands over. If they are not tight enough, move the table further from the door frame. This will provide further resistance as the bands will be tighter.

    • 5

Wrestle to your heart's content. Now that the tension is the correct level, try to force the bands over by forcing your arm over as you would in a normal match. It should be hard. It should be challenging and you should break a sweat. The moment it becomes easy, you should adjust the resistance by adding another band or moving the table further from the door at a 45-degree angle.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to arm wrestle with live people as part of your training. You can't truly become great unless you dedicate time to staring at the grunting face of your opponent.
