Things You'll Need:
- Trampoline
- Trampoline net
- Welding equipment
- Wrench
- Screwdriver
-
Step 1
Decide on the type of net. There are two types of trampoline nets: those that rise above and around the bed to keep the jumper from falling off and those that hang off the bed to the ground to keep people out from under the trampoline so that they won't get jumped on.
-
Step 2
Install the low net. Secure the net from the top of the frame to the legs. Make sure you get the net that matches the proportions of your trampoline.
-
Step 3
Install the high net. Unpack the net. You'll notice that the poles come packed wrapped in foam tubes. Do not throw the tubing away. It is part of the padding that goes back around the poles as cushions.
-
Step 4
Get a partner. Putting a trampoline net together is unwieldy business. Although a very talented and ambidextrous person could somehow manage on his own, for the rest of us, it takes at least two people.
-
Step 5
Assemble the net's frame. Follow the instruction sheet that will guide you through steps of attaching the poles (usually eight) to the trampoline frame's legs. They are secured with U-bolts and nuts and aligned with a leg socket that you will weld onto the trampoline leg. The frame should be about six feet higher than the bed.
-
Step 6
Measure the net. Lay the net out on the ground first to figure out where you will want the door to go and to adjust the knots at the top to the correct measurements found on the instructions. The top will be wider than the bottom.
-
Step 7
Hang the net. Put the top wider strap around the cap and ball of pole 1. Moving clockwise, continue placing the net into the slots at the top of each pole. Refer to the instructions on whether the net should be placed on the outside or the inside of the poles, they differ. Secure the bottom T-anchors of the net to the V-rings of the trampoline frame rail.
