How to Play Battleship Online
Battleship is a time-tested game kids have been playing for decades. Two players sit on opposite sides of a table and fire shots at each other until all the ships are sunk. But you don't even need a partner anymore-just find a game online and face off against the computer.

Find a website with Battleship. There are numerous game-based websites out there so you won't have any trouble finding one that offers Battleship. Try Miniclip or All Clean Humor for starters.

Deploy your ships. You'll get a square board resembling a checkerboard and five ships. Click on a ship then click on the board when you've found where you want to put it. Use the left and right arrow keys to change your ship from vertical to horizontal placement.

Start shooting. You'll see two boards placed side by side, one with ships and one without. Yours will be the one with the ships and the computer's is the other. Decide where you think the computer's ships are located and fire by clicking the mouse in that square.

Wait for the computer to fire. In most of the online games, this won't take more than a few seconds. Then it's your turn to fire again.

Sink the computer's ships before it sinks yours. This is more difficult than it sounds. When you hit something, keep firing in that area to give yourself a better chance of sinking a ship.

Tips & Warnings
Miniclip lets you place your ships where you want them when you play Battleship. Others don't offer this luxury. When playing on other websites, your ships are placed on the board by the computer and you can't change where they're located.
