Fundraising is something that everyone comes across sometime in their life. There are fundraisers for schools, churches, little league, charities or work. You are bound to be asked to fundraise for something--the following will give you ideas of things you can do to fundraise for your favorite charity.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Charity
  • 50-50 Tickets
  • Candy bars
  • Cakes and other baked goods
  • Crafts
  • Miscellaneous items
  1. Step 1

Sell 50-50 tickets. Many organizations use 50-50 tickets to raise money. This is one of the easiest methods to gain money for the charity of your choice. Someone will win and the charity wins too. Plus they are inexpensive--most people can come up with a dollar.

  2. Step 2

Have a bake sale. This is a relatively easy way to raise money for your favorite charity. People will contribute baked goods to the sale so all the money you raise will be pure profit for your charity.

  3. Step 3

Buy candy bars to sell. Candy is another easy way to raise money. As a fundraiser, it works well because candy bars are inexpensive and people are almost always hungry.

  4. Step 4

Try a craft show. There are many people in your organization that have talents. They may crochet, knit or do needlework. If you can get the donations you can sell them at the. Again almost all the money you earn will be profit for your charity.

  5. Step 5

Setting up a yard sale or a silent auction is another easy way to fundraise. People have all sorts of things that they wouldn't mind contributing and there are merchants that would be happy to donate to a worthwhile cause. Outside of refreshments--which may be donated--everything is pure profit for your charity.

  6. Step 6

Have a bingo night. The money for the bingo cards as well as the money for refreshments is direct profit for your charity. Of course, you pay the prizes for bingo and whatever the refreshments cost, but after that, it is profit. You can also sell 50-50 tickets and candy bars and this will add to the profit.

  7. Step 7

Think out of the box. The above steps are all legitimate ways to fundraise for your favorite charity, but you can think of others if you put your mind to it. Forming a fundraising committee will bring around more ideas. Just remember to always think of how much money you can raise for your charity, that is the bottom line.

Tips & Warnings
  • Set a goal and think what you can do to raise that money.
  • You can do more than one fund raising project.
  • Some projects--such as selling candy bars--can be ongoing.

on 12/15/2008 Well, first of all, be sure to get legitimate charity number if you're considering it seriously.
Secondly, find a charity hosting website. Unfortunately, most of them have a high bar for personal fundraise activity (because of credibility).
But the good news is: If you don't want to perform either of steps above, you can refer to http://www.listen2helps.com, which is a free (and tax-free) charity/fundraising programm hosting website. Although it's located in Switzerland, but it support Paypal. Where your request will be viewed by thousands of people from all over the world. Just put your fundraising activity detail on it, and let as many people as possible know this page. Then just wait for fund coming into your account.
And you can also try your luck elsewhere, like www.fundraising.co.uk, just don't remember to advertise your page
Good luck to you~~

on 4/29/2008 Another great fundraising opportunity for the 8-18 year old group is through a non profit organization, the Elite Players Club. The site provides each user/group with an individual fundraising web site. The web site looks similar to myspace, you can upload photos, videos, etc. When you've personalized your site, you can send inivitations to family and friends to view your site. Visitors to your site can make purchases through site affiliates (Amazon, Expedia, Old Navy, and many more) and you earn a commission on the sale! No more door to door sales. Make a cool site and then let your visitors make the sales!!
