Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Soak the horns in water. This will dissolve the tissue that's between the outer horn sheath and the horn core. Do this for a few weeks. You might want to keep the horns and water out of your regular living area as it will smell.
Step2
Lay the horns in the sun so that the horns dry. The sun can also help in the sterilization process of the horns.
Step3
Scrub the horns out with a scrub brush and an antibacterial soap of the horns still smell. Let the horns dry for a week or to more.
Step4
Brush the bull horns with varnish to preserve them.
Step5
Buy a mount for your horns. These can be found at a local hunting supply store or online at such retailers as Amazon.com or Cabelas.
Step6
Cover the mount with the cloth of your choice, and attach it to the mount by stapling it to the back of the mount. Should you choose, you can just varnish or stain the board and forgo the cloth covering.
Step7
Attach the bull horns to the mount with glue or epoxy then display with pride. You now have a good discussion piece.
