Whether you're in a rush or decide to leave your cell phone in another room, a microwave clock is a convenient way to get the time. By chance, if your microwave powers off, there's an outage or you need to change the clock during daylight savings time, it will only take a couple of minutes to reset it. All you need to know is the exact time and you'll be able to reset your clock immediately. Most digital clocks operate the same when setting the time, but there may be slight differences from model to model.

General Electric (GE) Microwave

Customers love GE microwave clocks because they use very little power. There are two types of GE clocks: models with electronic push-button controls and models with electronic dial controls. There are subtle differences between the two clocks, but it all boils down to what you prefer in a digital model. Models with electronic push-button controls can't be set for military time. So if you prefer a 24-hour format, you should purchase a model with electronic dial controls. Most of the dial control models can be formatted to show military time.

To set an electronic push-button control microwave, press "CLOCK," enter the time of day, select AM or PM, then press "START" or "CLOCK." If you have to use a dial control microwave model, there are a couple of additional steps, but again it's not challenging. All you have to do is press the "SETTINGS" button, turn the dial to select "CLOCK SET," then press the dial to enter the time. After, turn the dial to set the hour and press the dial to enter. If you need to change the clock mode to set 12 or 24 hours, press the settings button, then turn the dial to select clock mode. After you select clock mode, you're going to press the dial to enter. Then, turn the dial to 12 or 24 hours and press enter to activate.

Samsung Microwave

Samsung microwaves come with built-in clocks that you set when you first install your microwave oven or reset after the power goes out. The time will always display when the microwave oven isn't in use. To set the time, press "CLOCK." To set your microwave to 24 hours or 12 hours, turn the dial knob, then press select. Afterward, you'll turn the dial knob so you can set the hour. After you set the hour, press select. Once you set the hour, turn the dial knob again to set the minute, then press select. Afterward, your time will display correctly on your microwave oven.
