So you've decided that the pedestal Singing Machine is the Karaoke machine you want. The Singing Machine model "STVD1001" karaoke system certainly is a top of the line karaoke machine, with it's tall speakers and pedestal video stand. It makes it easy to have some fun singing around the fireplace.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set up your system. When it arrives be sure to read all the directions and plug everything into its proper places. Some assembly is required so have some general tools available. Also be sure to select a location in your home without too many hard surfaces. This can cause echo and feedback problems.

  2. Step 2

Test the system. Turn everything on and test the microphones and video camera. If all those seem to be working continue to Step 3. If not, check your directions and trouble shoot the system. Call the number listed in the directions if you need help.

  3. Step 3

Insert a karaoke DVD or CD into the front load DVD/CD and graphics player. If it is a karaoke DVD with graphics, they should appear on the video monitor.

  4. Step 4

Adjust the volume of the microphone and DVD/CD, and the angle of the video camera of your Singing Machine. Use the master volume control to adjust the DVD/CD and the microphone volume control to adjust the microphone volume.

  5. Step 5

Belt one out. Now that you've got the work done, have a karaoke sing-off with your Singing Machine system. Make sure the kids have a turn at the microphone and that they get extra "Star Search" stars for making the effort of getting in front of the crowd.

Tips & Warnings
  • The karaoke system described in this article pertains to the Singing Machine model "STVD1001" which is the pedestal karaoke system. Singing Machine also has many other great models without all the bells and whistles of this model, but are still great for family fun. For instance the "SMG900" 3 Carousel Karaoke System has a 3 disc capacity and is much smaller than the "STVD1001."
