Masturbation is a normal sexual activity. Sex health experts agree that masturbation is natural and healthy. Old beliefs about masturbation and sexuality are still prevalent in today's society. Parents and other authority figures still tell kids that masturbation causes blindness, craziness or hairy palms. As beliefs about sex change and more people embrace their sexuality, the thought that you can masturbate without shame is becoming more common.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand that you are doing nothing wrong when you masturbate. There is no shame in taking a few minutes to release some sexual tension or do something that just makes you feel good. Think of it as enjoying a sensual experience rather than doing something wrong.

  2. Step 2

Masturbate when you won't be disturbed. Masturbating when someone else is in another room can cause higher anxiety levels and increase the feelings of shame and wrongdoing. Creating a private, safe environment when you masturbate helps you relax without worrying about getting caught.

  3. Step 3

Stay faithful when away from your partner by masturbating. Infidelity causes more shame and regret than masturbation does. Use masturbation as a tool for sexual gratification when you can't be with your partner. You can even call your partner for a phone sex session or just some erotic talk before you masturbate. Hearing their voice helps you visualize them when masturbating and can help rid you of any guilty feelings.

  4. Step 4

Think of masturbation as an activity that helps you relax. Relieve stress, menstrual cramps or sexual tension with masturbation. Being relaxed helps you function more productively at work and home. There is no shame if you masturbate before or after work, in the shower or any other time you feel stressed.

  5. Step 5

Avoid thinking negative thoughts when you masturbate. Push all influences in your life that tell you what you're doing is wrong out of your head. Accept that masturbation has no evil roots other than the one's a sexually stringent society has placed upon it.
