The purpose of writing a creative brief is to describe your current project. You want to explain your purpose and your plan to implement the project. Your creative brief will provide the project outline to the parties involved. Follow these tips to write a creative brief for an ad agency.

  1. Step 1

    Start with the name of the client and the name of the client's business. Include the address and phone number.

  2. Step 2

    Name the project or write a sentence explaining the purpose of the project. Name the client and the person who is writing the brief.

  3. Step 3

    Write a description of the client's business history and what the client hopes to achieve with this project. Talk about the market niche and how your project will meet the needs of this market.

  4. Step 4

    Describe the audience. Know in detail who you will target with your advertising. Describe what you want the audience to do and how you plan to achieve this objective.

  5. Step 5

    Include a time line for your project. State what you plan to do and when you plan to do it. Predict when the project will be complete.

  6. Step 6

    List all the things you need to complete this project and list all the key people who will be involved in implementing the project.

  7. Step 7

    Describe your competition and how you will do something different or better than the competition.
