How to Get Around Napa Valley

Finding respite in Napa Valley can be easy because it's a wonderful travel destination. You can stay in a delightful bed and breakfast, taste some of the finest wines America has to offer and shop the quiet downtown streets. Situated an hour and a half north of San Francisco, California, Napa Valley is a great escape for those stressed from the haggard city pace. Read on to learn how to get around Napa Valley.

  1. Step 1

    Drive yourself or hire a driver. The roads in Napa Valley are uncomplicated. If you plan on drinking the wine, you must hire a driver. A driver can make your visit more relaxing, however it's costly.

  2. Step 2

    Rent a limousine from Wine Country Getaways. This is definitely for those accustomed to luxury. The limousine takes you on tours to the local wineries. You won't have to worry about directions.

  3. Step 3

    Get directions to and from all the wineries and other locations you plan to visit. While the roads are uncomplicated, it is still possible to get flustered. Carry your cell phone and the phone numbers to the wineries reservations desk. Call and ask for turn by turn instructions through Napa Valley.

  4. Step 4

    Drive on Highway 29 or the Silverado Trail. Both roads travel the length of the Valley's 30 miles. Wineries are situated along both roads and are easy to locate. Crossroads all connect back to these two main roads so it is relatively easy to stay on the right path.
