1
Make a list of meals for your family in advance.
-
2
Figure on the time it will take to prepare the meals. If you are a working parent and only have a minimum amount of time to prepare meals, work out a plan to make the meals in advance and freeze them. This makes it easy to have a different, healthy meal every day.

3
Spend time with your family. Have your family work on the meal preparation with you. This way you have the best of both worlds--a chance to prepare healthy meals and spend time with your family at the same time. You could make Saturday afternoons meal preparing time.

Find ways to make old things new. If you buy a turkey and cook it, you could then make various meals using the turkey. Buy a recipe book and find numerous recipes for making turkey. Likewise, you could do the same for spaghetti sauce, hamburger, pot roast, etc.

5
Be prepared to be flexible and determined to get your cooking done. If Saturday doesn't work one week, move it to Friday or Sunday--there are always alternatives. You can also prepare more than a week in advance especially if you know one weekend is going to be especially busy and you have a freezer big enough.
