Miami International Airport serves over 150 destinations in the world. Clearly one of the busiest airports you'll encounter, it's important to know your way around before hurrying to your flight while trying to find something to eat and locate a bathroom 10 minutes before boarding. User friendly and logically configured, it should be easy to plan ahead. Read on to learn how to get around Miami International Airport.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Check your flight online before leaving home. There you can see the terminal map and specific terminal where you will board. Take note of bathrooms, internet access, food and gift shops near that terminal.
Step2
Find parking in the economy lot and ride the shuttle over to the terminal. Miami International is one of the few airports that provides a valet service to park your car for a shorter walk. It will cost a little more but may be worth it especially if you have small children or physical challenges.
Step3
Shop and eat on each of Miami International's eight concourses. If you need to stay a night there is a hotel on concourse E as well as hotels just off site.
Step4
Go through the doors outside of baggage claim for taxis and shuttle service. Disabled access taxis are available. There is a useful grid on the official airport website that will give you the pricing for each shuttle ahead of time.
Step5
Rent a car from one of the counters inside the baggage terminal.

Tips & Warnings

  • You'll return your rental car to the company, not the airport.
