Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand that Krav Maga self-defense techniques are based on using your instincts combined with appropriate body moves. Krav Maga schools teach proper techniques and create simulated scenarios for the student to practice the newly acquired moves.

  2. Step 2

Know that while Krav Maga self-defense techniques aim to defend against attack using any means possible, you are encouraged and taught to use only enough force to survive--not to go overboard against your attacker.

  3. Step 3

Realize that the main idea taught in Krav Maga is to always keep your body in motion and deflect blows from an attacker using your arms.

  4. Step 4

Find a Krav Maga school for instruction in a group setting. Search online for a school near you or check the Yellow Pages of your phone book under "Self-defense" for listings.

  5. Step 5

Aim blows against an attacker at sensitive points on his body. Sensitive areas include the groin, stomach, throat and eyes. Harming these body parts forces the attacker to release you if you're in his grip.

  6. Step 6

Practice Krav Maga self defense to hone your skills. Be prepared not only physically, but mentally as well. Observe your surroundings when out of the home to mentally prepare for any kind of attack.
