Step1
Different Types of Curry Combs
Curry the entire gray horse with your curry comb, spending extra time with the spots that are stained. The goal is to remove loose hairs and dirt that might be preventing you from seeing the stain clearly.
Step2
Use Plenty of Water
Wet your gray horse thoroughly with water from a hose, making sure to soak all areas where stains might be hiding. Some of the stains may be lifted by water alone, but don't get your hopes up.
Step3
Squirt a liberal amount of shampoo onto your gray horse's neck, back, haunches and sides, then use the curry comb to rub the shampoo into his coat. On the belly and legs, you can use your fingernails to rub the shampoo into visible stains, but don't use the curry comb to avoid causing skin irritation.
Step4
Rinse your gray horse thoroughly with the hose, removing all suds and dirt from his coat. A great majority of the stains should have come loose by this point, but you might be left with some residuals. To get rid of those, spray your horse's coat liberally with Vetrolin shine, which will help to loosen it considerably.
