Ft. Lauderdale Stadium is one of the older spring training facilities in the Grapefruit League. This stadium holds 8,340 seats and currently hosts the Baltimore Orioles during spring training each February and March. You can check out this classic spring training facility before it undergoes renovations by planning a trip to see the Orioles in Ft. Lauderdale.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Expand autograph opportunities at Ft. Lauderdale Stadium by purchasing tickets next to the team's dugout. The first three rows along the dugout on the first base line offer an opportunity to toss a glove or ball to your favorite player.

  2. Step 2

Purchase a season parking pass if you plan on staying for the duration of spring training. This parking pass is available with multi-game ticket packages and offers the best deal on a per-game basis.

  3. Step 3

Learn the quickest way to your seats by getting info on ticket gates in Ft. Lauderdale Stadium. You can get into the park by utilizing entrances outside home plate, left field and right field.

  4. Step 4

Attend a game inexpensively at Ft. Lauderdale Stadium by buying general admission seats. These seats are located in right field and offer high value based on the view of the field.

  5. Step 5

Head to Ft. Lauderdale Stadium before the first pitch of spring training to see practice. The Orioles pitchers and catchers report about three weeks before the first exhibition games. You can watch practice for free and get info on Baltimore's players before the preseason starts.

  6. Step 6

Watch budding stars in the Orioles organization by spending time at Twin Lakes Park in nearby Sarasota. You can split your spring training time between Sarasota and Ft. Lauderdale to see the present and future of the Baltimore Orioles.

  7. Step 7

Review the spring training schedule for Ft. Lauderdale Stadium at the beginning of December to get info for your trip. The Baltimore Orioles publish this information on their website to help tourists find the best game to watch (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings
  • Drive to Ft. Lauderdale Stadium at least two hours before game time to take advantage of the spring training events. The stadium opens its gates two hours before the first pitch, and Orioles and opposing players sign autographs during this period.
  • Book your accommodations early in Ft. Lauderdale to avoid the spring break rush. Ft. Lauderdale is a popular location for college students on spring break, and hotel rooms fill up quickly.
