How to Use Cranberry to Strengthen the Immune System

When your immune system is not working properly, the body is subject to contracting illnesses and diseases that otherwise would not be a problem for the body to fight off. Cranberry products are recognized for their potential to strengthen the immune system.

Instructions

    Vary Your Intake of Cranberries

  1. Step 1

    Strengthen the immune system by drinking cranberry juice every morning. Recommended amounts will vary depending on the health status. If you're ill, the amount may be increased to 8 oz. 3 times a day. Maintenance may require only 1 glass a day.

  2. Step 2

    Use dried cranberries in salads and breads. Dried, fresh or frozen cranberries are higher in immune system support than diluted juices.

  3. Step 3

    Keep some baked cranberries on hand to spoon out over toast or to use as a topping on ice cream.

  4. Step 4

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees F while preparing the mixture below.

    Put 2 1/2 cups of sugar in 1 1/4 cups of water in a saucepan.

    Boil mixture for 5 minutes and set aside.

    Put at least 4 cups of whole uncooked cranberries in a 9-inch by 13-inch baking pan.

    Keep covered and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

    Allow baked cranberries to cool and then refrigerate.
