How to Make A Healthier Chicken Parmesan

Enjoy Chicken Parmesan with a healthier flare! No more greasy mess from the frying pan! A simple yet delicious version of an old favorite!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast
  • 2 large egg whites
  • Italian style bread crumbs
  • Marinara sauce from a jar or your favorite homemade sauce (already prepared)
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Barbecue Grill
  1. Step 1

    Preheat Barbecue grill on med/low heat.
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    Heat marinara sauce in a pot on the stove.

  2. Step 2

    Beat egg whites in a bowl. In a separate bowl, pour about 3/4 cup of bread crumbs (add more as needed)

  3. Step 3

    Dredge the chicken breasts in the egg white and then coat with the bread crumbs.

  4. Step 4

    Spray grill with a non-stick cooking spray. Cook Chicken until tender. Take off grill and put on a platter.

  5. Step 5

    Coat a 10"x13" baking pan with non-stick spray. Coat bottom of pan with marinara sauce. Place chicken on top of sauce. Add sauce to each chicken breast and top with thin slices of mozzarella. Bake in oven for 5 minutes or so or until the cheese melts. Do not over cook.

  6. Step 6

    Add your favorite pasta as a side dish or put on a wedge/hoggie/sub rolls.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also eat them without the sauce and cheese! Try them on top of a salad!
  • Prepare a pan and freeze it for another night
  • You will never go back to frying your chicken cutlets ever again!
