Step 1
Allergies can play havoc on your under eye area. If you have hay fever or seasonal allergies, consult your allergist or physician. Try not to rub your eyes, as this can irritate the skin and make it puffy and saggy. Gently wash your eyes several times a day with a warm cloth until your allergy symptoms subside. Do not rub with the cloth, just gently dab at your eyes to help soothe the itching and burning. Only use eye drops if recommended by your physician. Cool cucumber slices over the eyes and covered with a cool cloth can help soothe the tissue and reduce puffiness.

Step 2
Genes play a pivotal role in almost any physical aspect of our bodies. It's frustrating to see someone twenty years older that has that porcelain skin, and she swears all she does is shower and use a little lotion! But she's probably telling the truth. Some people are blessed with good skin and some of us aren't. But whether we are or aren't, taking care of our skin on a daily basis is essential to having healthy skin for the long haul. If you've noticed wrinkles forming under your eyes, begin a daily routine of facial exercise. This helps to tighten the skin just as exercising your abs helps flatten your tummy. With eyes closed, arch your eyebrows as high as possible and hold it there for ten seconds. Elongate your face by dropping your chin and raising your eyebrows with your eyes open for 10 seconds. Use your middle finger to gently massage the area under your eyes to the right and left. Be gentle! Don't irritate the skin, just stimulate it. Repeat these exercises three times daily. End your exercises with cool cucumbers or steeped chamomile or green tea bags over the eyes, followed by a cool cloth. Again, do not rub the eyes.

Step 3
Our skin relies on good nutrition just like the rest of our body. And as we age, our skin loses collagen. Eating healthy and getting beneficial doses of vitamins is very important to good skin health. Some suggest that Vitamin E is the skin, hair and nails vitamin. Talk to your doctor about a Vitamin E supplement, and ask for other recommendations for herbal or vitamin supplements.

Step 4
The most important thing you can do for your skin aside from diet and exercise is to moisturize, the same is true for your under eyes. If you tan this is especially critical. Don't skimp on moisturizers and under eye cream, and avoid moisturizers with perfumes and artificial dyes. Apply eye cream under and over your make-up. Be sure to thoroughly remove make-up with a gentle cleanser and cotton balls. There are a number of hypo-allergenic skin care products on the market. New products hit the market every day, claiming to be as good as Botox without being invasive. You will have to find the product that is right for you, but test any product on a small area of your face before use. The last thing you need is to complicate your skin problem with an allergic reaction!

Step 5
There are a number of remedies for under eye wrinkles. What works for one person might not have much of an affect on someone else. Experiment carefully until you find the treatment(s) that work best for your skin type. Other remedies include avoiding too much sun and try not to squint, a honey and oatmeal mask can tighten and soothe the skin, get plenty of rest and moisturize well before bedtime, unscented castor oil can be beneficial, but test first for sensitivity.
