A fantastic way to make money with eBay is to never buy or sell your own stuff. You can make way more money by becoming an eBay consultant -- teaching others to use eBay!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • eBay Knowledge
  • Classified ads
  • Promotional materials
  • Business cards (optional)
  1. Step 1

A wonderful thing happened to me a couple of years ago. A friend of a friend told me that he knew a guy who was looking for help getting going with eBay. I called the guy up and said I could help him set up his first eBay auction. I went to his home, and spent about three hours getting his auction going, and then teaching him about all the ins and outs of eBay. I even set up an eBay store for him. When I was done, he wrote me a check for $150 for my time -- $50 an hour!

  2. Step 2

I was immediately hooked. I thought: "If I can get $50 for simply showing people how to use eBay, that would be great!" And it has been! You don't have to be a super eBay expert to do this -- just have a good basic understanding of how to set up auctions, and also buy things. Theer are many, many people who don't have even the most basic idea of how to use eBay --you can show them the ropes and maye $35 to $50 an hour!

  3. Step 3

Here's how to get started. Sign up on eBay and become familiar with the site. Do some minimal, inexpensive buying and selling to get familiar with how eBay works. Learn as much as you can about eBay, including buying and selling strategies. Become very familiar with the auction listing process.

  4. Step 4

Once you are comfortable with your eBay knowledge, start promoting yourself as an "eBay Consultant."

  5. Step 5

Buy an inexpensive classified ad, or take out a free ad in a local shopper. Word it this way: "Make money on eBay! I'll show you how! I come to your home and teach you all about eBay! Call: 555-5555."

  6. Step 6

You'll get a lot of calls -- that's how it worked for me. I don't do this full time because I am a busy freelance writer, but I love doing eBay consulting when I want to get away from the writing biz for a while -- it's also a great way to meet people and help them, which they will appreciate you for -- and the cash is great!

Tips & Warnings
  • There are dozens if not hundreds of people in your area who don't have the first idea about how to use eBay -- but they have a strong interest in doing so. Many people will pay you $35, $50 or more per hour to set up their first eBay auction for them, and to basicaly teach them how eBay works. Offer to show people how to use eBay -- and charge them your fee!
