Thomas Keller Doughnut

When is a doughnut more than just everyone's favorite, bad-for-you breakfast food? When it's prepared by Thomas Keller, Michelin 3-star chef of Per Se and French Laundry, two of the most acclaimed restaurants in the country. Even if you don't have a Homer Simpson sized doughnut obsession, you'll want to try one of these made with only the finest, freshest ingredients in taste-tempting flavor combinations.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The doughnuts are available only at Michelin 3-star chef Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery in the Time Warner Center on Columbus Circle.

  2. Step 2

The Bouchon Bakery is located on the third floor to the left of the Bouchon Restaurant that overlooks Columbus Circle through a wall of glass. Bouchon Bakery hours are Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Doughnuts are available on Saturdays only.

  3. Step 3

Rather than ring doughnuts, these are the filled variety in delectable traditional flavors like apple-cinnamon or seasonal varieties like pumpkin-spice.

  4. Step 4

At $4.25 each, a doughnut by a Michelin, 3-star chef doesn't come cheap but it's worth it. Justify it by knowing that if you were to eat in one of Chef Keller's restaurants, a meal would cost you one hundred times that. Bouchon Bakery also has other sweet treats as well as sandwiches, salads and specialty coffees to go.

  5. Step 5

Pack up your purchases and walk across the street to Central Park where you can enjoy your 3-star doughnut al fresco.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you wait until too late in the day, they may run out.
  • Doughnuts are available on Saturdays only.
