Peeling a pomegranate, while rewarding in the end, can be messy, sticking and more trouble than it's worth. Easily peel poms with a few quick tricks.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Chop off either end of the pomegranate, then slice it into two pieces.
Step2
Submerge into the cold water and remove the seeds. They'll sink to the bottom - the pith and rind will float to the top.
Step3
Scoop out the pith and rind to discard. Drain the seeds. Viola. A peeled pomegranate with much less mess.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do the cutting on a plastic, non-porous cutting board.
  • Store seeds in an air tight container in your fridge.
  • Pomegranate juice stains just about anything it can land on. Don't wear white while peeling a pom.
