How to Copy Data From One Hard Drive to Another

Copying information to another hard drive is easy following these few simple steps without extra software.

Things You’ll Need:

• Windows O/S

1. Connect external hard drive the proper external port of your computer.
2. Then on your computer screen, go to the start menu and click my computer. Look for your hard drive name.
3. Open the files that you would like to transfer/copy to the external hard drive.
4. Highlight the file. Right click on the selected files and click "copy".
5. Click on the window of where your hard drive is located and open. WHen you open the file for your hard drive, right click "paste".
6. Repeat until all files are transferred.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure to be extra careful not to accidentally delete your information.
• If you drag and drop your files, some files might not copy onto the hard drive.
