It's unsightly, and certainly not something you want to use with your family and guests. If you have this problem, there's a rather simple solution using a common household ingredient. Instructions

      Fill the dishwasher with dirty dishes.

      Place a bowl with 2 cups of vinegar on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Add the normal dishwashing detergent.

      Run the dishwasher through its normal wash cycle.

Tips & Warnings

  • The vinegar will also clean the inside of the dishwasher.

  • Avoid using gel detergents in your dishwasher. These can leave a film on glasses.

  • Never use any silver or other metal objects in the dishwasher while you remove dishwasher film. This can damage or discolor those objects.
