Have you started to notice an icky coating on your dishes, even though you have a dishwasher? Are your dishes just not as clean as you think they should be? No, you don't need new dish washing liquid or even a new dishwasher. All you need is a few simple steps to remove dishwasher film, and your dishwasher can work as good as new!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • bowl
  • 1/2 cup bleach
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
Step1
Fill the dishwasher with dirty dishes.
Step2
Place a bowl with a 1/2 cup of bleach on the bottom rack of the dishwasher.
Step3
Allow the dishwasher to run through only the "wash" cycle.
Step4
Fill the same bowl you used in Step 2 with 1/2 cup of vinegar.
Step5
Run the dishwasher through a complete cycle to fully remove the dishwasher film.

Tips & Warnings

  • Your dishwasher will stay free of dishwasher film if you complete these steps on occasion.
  • Never use any silver or other metal objects in the dishwasher while you remove dishwasher film. This can damage or discolor those objects.
