How to Use WinZip to Open Compressed Files

WinZip is a file compression software that has many features. This software can do many things other file compression software can't do.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • WinZip file compression software
  1. Step 1

    When you first open WinZip you will see a window with large icons. Chose Open, to navigate to the file you would like to decompress.

  2. Step 2

    Your files should be listed in the large pane below the Icon menus.

  3. Step 3

    Click on the Extract icon to open a new window where you will find options for where you would like to unpack your files. Chose a directory. Make sure that under Files pane, you have checked the box that says All Files and Folders, so that the software will complete the entire unpacking procedure.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the Extract Button in the lower left side of the Extract pane, and your files should show up in your chosen directory.
