Things You'll Need:
- a web browser
- a topic or interest that lends itself to discussion by an online group
-
Step 1
Sign up for or log into your Google account.
-
Step 2
Go to the Google Groups page and click on Create a Group. Your group can be on any topic, such as your kickball team, your class reunion, your favorite software, or other topics that you'd like to discuss or organize.
-
Step 3
Invite people to become members of the group. Each member can decide whether to get group posts by email or strictly by reading the discussion online. Only people who are members of the group can join in the topic discussions. However other people may be able to read what is posted there, although they cannot participate in the discussion. When you set up the group, you decide whether anyone can read it, or only members can read it.
-
Step 4
An example of a customized Google group pageSet up your page. You can customize graphics, colors, and styles.

As new members join the group, ask them to create a profile. The profile can include information about the members, member photos, and other background to help the members get to know each other.
-
Step 6
Group members can upload files to share with each other. These might be schedules, work documents, photos, sample itineraries, or any other files pertinent to the group.

on 10/31/2008 @ navygirl1, I don't know a thing about MSN. (I'm a Mac person and I tend to stay away from MSN.) My best advice would be to see what you can find in the help files. Sorry, I'm not much help on this one.

on 10/30/2008 I have a group with MSN and they are deleting all groups come February 19th and joining with Multiply. I am not sure if I like this new site so I want to know if there is any way that i can transfer my whole site that is on MSN now, to Google without having to start all over again. Multiply has made this possible but I am not sure if I want to go with them. I am checking ou Google groups, but don't see anything if this is a possibility to move the existing site over to Google without having to start over.
Thanks, would appreciate an answer.

on 10/5/2008 Hi Om1234, I'm not sure what kind of stats you can get on individual members, but you can explore the admin area of the group to find out.

on 10/4/2008 We have GOOGLE GrOUP.
However, we have a suspicion that many members do not read the postings.
How do we know how many times each memebr is checking the postings or none at all?
How do we get these stats?
