Things You'll Need:
- base coat
- salon quality nail color (O.P.I. is the best!)
- QUICK DRY TOPCOAT (the kind in the round blue bottle- you can get it at SALLY Beauty Supply)
-
Step 1
Wash your kands with antibacterial bar soap- somthing not greasy so your polish will stick well! Concentrate on washing and massaging your nails.
-
Step 2
Trim any hangnails, excess cuticle, or snags with a nail nipper, and file the nail tip with a clean emery board until it has a nice smooth, rounded margin. Buff down any ridges with the emery board as well.
-
Step 3
Brush a nice protein-based base coat on all ten nails, let dry.
Select a good quality base color (I suggest O.P.I. brand), shake and dip brush into bottle. Let some color run off of the brsuh so you don't overload your nail and make a sticky, ugly mess. Brush a thin coat of color overtop your basecoat. -
Step 4
Let this last layer dry slightly, then apply a layer of QUICK DRY topcoat. After a minute, tap lightly to see if its dry. It should be.
-
Step 5
Apply another coat of color on top of this and let dry slightly. Apply QUICK DRY coat as above. May be layered thicker than base color. Let dry for a minute and test.
-
Step 6
VOILA! Your color is set! Rub some olive oil, vitamin E creme or other emollient onto your hands and cuticles and let soak in. Now go out and wow the town with your sexy, manicured hands!
