Why you shouldn't assume every frown is your fault. To have more fun, control what you can and forget the rest!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Get real.
Turn on CNN and tell yourself you're the cause of all the bad news--the wars, the hurricanes. Absurd, right? Well, so is believing that everyone's mood is linked to something you did.
Step2
Be Proactive.
Instead of fretting about a mate's glum face, offer to help. Even if they refuse, you'll feel better for having asked.
Step3
Look in the mirror.
Taking things personally is really about guilt that you're not being the best friend or spouse. Before bed, ask, Have I done a good job of being a human today?. If so, stop beating yourself up.
