Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- positive attitude
- open heart and mind
- paper and pencil
- favorite food
- art supplies
- books
- toys
Step1
Turn off the cell phone, the television, the computer, and the other electronic brain drains. Make your child the only priority you have.
Step2
Get into the mindset that this time has been set aside to have fun with your child, and whatever else happens does not matter. Relax and remember what you loved to do as a kid.
Step3
Sit down and talk to your child about the things you used to do with your parents, grandparents, and friends. Going through your childhood photos can add to this interaction.
Step4
Make a list of possibilities for fun that you might like to do together. It does not matter if it is as simple as making a fort out of a blanket or a trip to Aruba. Write them all down. Then pick the one that you and your child(ren) will do now and save the list for later.
Step5
After you have determined what activity you will enjoy together, gather the supplies you will need. Make any snacks or food you will need together.
Step6
Take pictures of each other, even if you are just eating popcorn and watching a dvd. Treat this time together as a special occasion.

on 6/12/2008 Good tips. I like the idea of taking picture, that helps with memories down the road. Thanks!
