How to Make Sweet Spicy Chicken and Bacon Appetizers

Perfect for game day, parties, or holiday appetizers, these sweet and spicy chicken and bacon appetizers are sure to please a crowd.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 pound of sliced bacon
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • Wooden toothpicks
  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl

Step1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Step2
Slice the chicken breast into 1-inch chunks. Cut the bacon horizontally into three pieces per slice.
Step3
In a separate bowl or plate, combine the chili powder and brown sugar. Mix well.
Step4
Wrap each piece of chicken with a small slice of bacon. Secure the bacon with a toothpick.
Step5
As you wrap the chicken, drop each one into the chili powder mixture. Roll in the mixture to cover well, and transfer to baking sheet.
Step6
When you have completed all the chicken and bacon, place baking pan in oven. Cook for 15 minutes, turn each sweet and spicy chicken and bacon appetizer, and cook an additional 10 minutes.
Step7
Remove from oven, and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a spicy kick, try adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the brown sugar and chili powder mix.
