Are you concerned that while you are away, your beautiful plants will die because there is no one to water them? There are ways to keep your garden watered and still enjoy that trip away.

Step1
If these are outdoor gardens, set up an irrigation system using either seeping hoses or hoses filled with holes.
Step2
Attach a timer to the tap that you will leave turned on, and then set it to water your gardens at your preferred times.
Step3
If your plants are indoor plants, you can place the pots into larger, self watering pots that have a long string inside which draws the water up into the soil. A large reservoir will last several weeks depending if the plant is in the sun or shade.
Step4
If the indoor plants can tolerate the outdoor weather – and assuming it’s still summertime – you could sit them in your outside beds in the appropriate areas ie: plants that live in the sun should be put in sunny areas, shady plants in shaded areas. They would be watered when the automatic timer turns the water on for the outdoor plants.
Step5
You could ask someone to come in every few days to water your plants. Perhaps a responsible teen or adult or family member would like to earn a bit of extra money for watering your plants.
